I’m very passionate about blogging. I love writing stuff, I love reading stuff and interacting with other bloggers. So, it’s no surprise that I started blogging for my business. It was a great project to work on and I learned a lot in the process—but, of course, there were some mistakes made along the way. And while my blog has been successful overall and helped my business tremendously, I’d like to think that if I had avoided these 3 major mistakes when starting out, it would have been even more successful than it is today:

Focusing on the wrong metrics
If you’re like most business owners, you’ve probably spent time thinking about what metrics matter to your business. It can be tricky to figure out which ones are most important because there are so many different things that impact your success: revenue, traffic, engagement, loyalty and more.
For example: If you want to make money from blogging (or any other kind of content), it’s important not just to focus on how many people visit or subscribe but also how reliable those people are—and whether or not they’ll come back for more. If no one is reading or sharing what you’re writing, then it doesn’t matter how much traffic comes in; your business will fail regardless! So when deciding where you should place your focus when creating content for your blog, consider these three factors:
Using the wrong keywords
It’s a mistake to use the wrong keywords in your blog. Keywords are important for SEO, getting found by your target audience and driving more traffic.
Keywords help search engines categorize what you’re talking about and make it easy for people who are looking for something specific to find you. When you write your posts, think about what someone searching online might type into Google before they find them – you can use those same terms or phrases in your content.

I made some mistakes with my latest blog. I think i’m going to avoid these mistakes in the future.
I have been doing this for a while, but it’s always good to remind yourself of the basics:
Use an SEO keyword research tool like SEMRush, Google Keyword Planner or Ahrefs Content Explorer to find out if your keywords are getting enough traffic on Google search results!
Write at least 500 words per post, or 2-3 paragraphs at least? Or 4-5 sentences? How many words should you write? Depends on what you’re writing about! A blog post about how to make bread has more unique keywords than one about how to build a business website.
If you want people to read your blog posts, try putting them somewhere where they’ll see them… like Facebook Pages or Groups + Twitter feeds + Pinterest boards + Instagram feeds/hashtags (if applicable).

It also offers many free themes (or templates) for personal blogs so that anyone can set up their own site within minutes!
